Cesaria Evora Concert Review, March 30, 2006; New York City

I was lucky enough to be in New York City visiting family during the week when Cesaria Evora happened to be in concert at the Beacon Theatre. It's been several years since I last saw Evora in concert. Her band has grown, but the music has not changed. Her voice is as smooth as it ever was, and her performance is equally calming and relaxing. What can I say? The woman is simply a musical treasure, and that's all there is to it. She is still on tour in the US and Canada, there are only a few tour dates left, but if you live in Ottawa, Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, you've still got time to get your tickets!
