Let me preface this by saying that I'm not the biggest fan of the Irish phenomenon
Celtic Woman. The group and the show don't do much for me, because I tend to be drawn to authentic, down-and-dirty music, rather than the sleek, highly-produced stuff. I do, however, greatly appreciate the artistry that went into Celtic Woman (what a set of voices!), and I also appreciate the fact that the show and the group is responsible for introducing millions of people to
traditional Irish music, on a level that we haven't seen since
Riverdance. That, in my not-so-humble opinion, is a very good thing. So if you like Celtic Woman, I've created
a list of CDs that you might also like to help you dig deeper into the genres that inspired the group.
