If You Like Celtic Woman...

Thursday October 9, 2008
Let me preface this by saying that I'm not the biggest fan of the Irish phenomenon Celtic Woman. The group and the show don't do much for me, because I tend to be drawn to authentic, down-and-dirty music, rather than the sleek, highly-produced stuff. I do, however, greatly appreciate the artistry that went into Celtic Woman (what a set of voices!), and I also appreciate the fact that the show and the group is responsible for introducing millions of people to traditional Irish music, on a level that we haven't seen since Riverdance. That, in my not-so-humble opinion, is a very good thing. So if you like Celtic Woman, I've created a list of CDs that you might also like to help you dig deeper into the genres that inspired the group.
