I've been plugging away again, adding some new (old) ballads to the About.com Irish folk songs collection. This latest batch includes a tragic number about being sent away to Australia, back in the penal colony days; a story of one of the Irish Republican heroes of the Uprising of 1798; and a classic tearjerker about a young lass whose beloved has a bit of a wandering eye. All of the above are most certainly worth a listen (we've got recommended versions at each of the pages) and the lyrics will help you sing along. Check 'em out:
