A Dancer from Boukman Eksperyans

In traditional Haitian style, the Boukman Eksperyans stage performance is filled with not just music, but also dancing, drumming, and other performance elements that make for a vivid live show. This young woman, full of smiles throughout the entire performance, not only danced and sang, but also jumped rope, performed minor acrobatic feats, played "pranks" on other band members, and otherwise livened up what was already an impressive visual and sonic show. In light of the various Haiti's devastation in the past couple of years, it was good to see that the light still shines, and yet important to be reminded that the work of rebuilding that country is far from over.
